What’s the cost? Hourly rates start at €50. The minimum charge per job is €50, even for shorter jobs. Depending on the type and scope of the work, we will specify either an hourly rate or a fixed price in our quote. All prices include applicable sales tax.
Consultations, cost estimates, quotes, and site visits are free of charge and non-binding. You pay us for the work upon completion. Material costs and agreed-upon advance payments are due in advance.Does the professional bring tools and materials? The professional brings the tools needed for the job. Materials are generally provided by you but can be arranged by agreement. Any material costs are agreed in advance.
Will someone visit the job location? If necessary, we’ll schedule an on-site visit before providing a quote. Site visits are free and non-binding.

1. Scope of Application
These Terms of Service apply to all users of the website www.karlolaf.com and govern the relationship between Karl & Olaf Home Services, established in the Netherlands (hereinafter “we” or “us”), and users of the website and its services. They apply to private consumers and business customers within the European Union. Applicable consumer protection rights remain unaffected.
2. Services Offered
We offer home services, including repairs and handyman work, painting and wallpapering, garden and outdoor work, flooring and tiling, drywall and plastering, plumbing and heating, decluttering and waste disposal, masonry and carpentry. We arrange and coordinate these services for you. The work is carried out on our behalf by independent professionals from our network (subcontractors). The website and the request service are free of charge unless expressly stated otherwise.
3. Requesting a Service and Conclusion of a Contract
3.1 Submitting a request through the website does not create a contract.
3.2 After receiving your request, we will quickly send you a rough, non-binding price estimate and discuss the work and timing with you. If needed, the independent professional who will carry out the work may contact you directly, and we will arrange a site visit with them.
3.3 We then agree the scope of work and the price with you, either an hourly rate or a fixed price, before work begins. A contract between you and Karl & Olaf Home Services is formed when you accept the agreed scope and price.
3.4 The rough estimate is a first indication only. It is not a binding offer, and the final price is the one agreed under 3.3.
3.5 Before work begins, we will tell you which professional will carry it out.
4. Prices and Payment
4.1 The hourly rate starts at €50. The minimum charge per job is €50, even for shorter jobs. All prices include applicable sales tax (VAT).
4.2 Consultations, estimates and necessary site visits are free and non-binding.
4.3 Labour is invoiced by us and paid to Karl & Olaf Home Services upon completion of the work. Payment is due within [14] days of the invoice.
4.4 Materials and any agreed advance costs are paid in advance.
4.5 The professional is not authorised to collect payment on our behalf or to change the agreed price unless we have confirmed this to you.
5. Role of Our Business and Our Professionals
5.1 Karl & Olaf Home Services is your contractual partner for the agreed work and your point of contact from request to completion.
5.2 We do not carry out the work ourselves. We commission independent professionals from our network, whom we select for their skills and reliability. They carry out the work on our behalf and in line with the agreement with you.
5.3 Work that legally requires specific qualifications or licences is carried out only by professionals who hold them.
5.4 If you have an issue with the work, please contact us. We will take care of the matter with the professional.
6. Customer Responsibilities
6.1 Please give access to the property and provide any materials you have agreed to supply.
6.2 Please tell us promptly if you have concerns about the execution or the expected result.
6.3 Please inspect the work upon completion and report visible issues to us as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours, so we can resolve them quickly. This is a request, not a deadline. Your statutory rights are not affected, including if you report an issue later.
7. Changes During the Job
If additional work becomes necessary or you request it during the job, the professional will tell you and we will agree the additional work and its price with you before it is carried out, unless immediate action is reasonably necessary to prevent damage. Additional work is invoiced by us in accordance with the agreement with you.
8. Right of Withdrawal (for Consumers Only)
If you are a consumer in the EU, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days without giving a reason. Whether this right applies, and any exceptions, depend on the contract and the circumstances. Details are in our Right of Withdrawal Policy.
8B. Cancellations and Rescheduling
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact us as early as possible. Any cancellation fees will be agreed with you in advance and are subject to mandatory law.
9. Liability and Warranty
9.1 We are responsible to you for the agreed work, including work carried out by the professionals we commission. Statutory warranty rights apply. If the work is defective, we will arrange for it to be put right in accordance with the law.
9.2 We are liable without limitation for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, and wherever liability cannot legally be excluded or limited. Beyond that, liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.
9.3 Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
9B. Force Majeure
Neither party is responsible for delays or failure to perform caused by events beyond their reasonable control, such as natural disasters, strikes, network outages or severe weather. We will inform you promptly and agree a new date.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including texts, images, graphics, layouts and logos, is protected by intellectual property laws. Reproduction, distribution or any other use without prior written consent is prohibited, unless permitted by applicable law.
11. Data Protection
Our handling of personal data complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Dutch privacy laws. To carry out your request, we pass on your contact details and the details of the job to the professional who will carry out the work, but only as far as necessary. 12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Dutch law, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in the customer’s country of residence apply. For business customers, the courts of Amsterdam have exclusive jurisdiction, unless agreed otherwise. For consumers, applicable mandatory jurisdiction and consumer protection rules remain unaffected.
13. Final Provisions
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision will be replaced, where legally possible, by a valid provision that most closely reflects the original intention.

Right of Withdrawal Policy (Consumers)
1. Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer within the meaning of applicable EU consumer protection laws, you have a statutory right to withdraw from certain contracts concluded online or otherwise at a distance. Where this right applies to your contract with Karl & Olaf Home Services, the withdrawal period is 14 days from the day the contract is concluded.
To exercise your right, send us a clear written statement by email or through our contact form. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but this is not mandatory. It is sufficient to send your notice before the withdrawal period expires.
2. Performance During the Withdrawal Period
Our contract covers the arrangement and coordination of the work and the work itself, which is carried out on our behalf by an independent professional from our network.
If you expressly ask us to begin the work before the withdrawal period ends and then withdraw, you must pay a proportionate amount for what has already been provided up to the time you notify us, as required by law. This includes work already carried out by the professional on our behalf.
3. Early Expiry of the Right
Where the law provides that the right of withdrawal expires once a service has been fully performed, this applies only if you expressly requested that we begin before the withdrawal period ended and confirmed that you would lose your right once the service was fully performed. We will ask you for this confirmation in writing. It is not assumed automatically.
4. Cancellations and Rescheduling
To cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact us as early as possible. Any cancellation fees will be agreed with you in advance and are subject to mandatory law.
